Apps like I Am Sober, if you want more than sobriety tracking

Apps like I Am Sober and Nomo are good at what they're built for. A clean day counter, milestone chips at 30, 60, 90 days, a place to log a craving when it hits, sometimes a general community feed to scroll. If what you need is a reliable number that goes up and a reminder of how far you've come, they do that job well. This isn't a takedown of that category. It's about what happens once the counting itself stops being the hard part.

What a day counter can't do

A streak is a record of what already happened. It doesn't know that today is the day the craving is worse than it's been in three weeks, and it can't respond to that in any way except showing you the same number as yesterday. The hard days in sobriety usually aren't solved by a stat. They're solved by someone else, in the middle of it too, telling you what got them through their version of tonight.

A general community feed gets you closer, but a public forum comes with its own cost. You're posting as a version of yourself other members will recognize across posts, in a space where the loudest or most liked replies tend to rise, whether or not they're what you actually needed to hear.

What Steadyfy does differently

  • No day counter as the centerpiece. You post your actual story, sobriety or otherwise, as long or as short as the day calls for.
  • Fully anonymous every time. Not a display name you reuse, a new randomly generated username with no photo, ever.
  • You choose the kind of response you want before anyone replies. Encouragement, honest, or just listening, so a hard night doesn't get met with unsolicited advice.
  • Check-ins instead of a public reply thread. Support lands in your update directly, not staged for an audience of other members.
  • Circles, for when you want the opposite of anonymous. A small private group of people you actually invite, checking in on each other daily or weekly.

If you still want the streak

Steadyfy has its own version, a single daily "I'm still going" tap, and real day-count milestones. The difference is what happens around it. Missing a day doesn't reset anything or shame you for it, because the count was never the point. It's evidence you can look back on, not a number you're afraid of losing.

Who this is actually for

If a day counter and milestone badges are genuinely what you need right now, apps built specifically around that do it well, and there's no reason to switch. Steadyfy is for the days the counting isn't enough, when what you actually want is for one specific, honest thing you wrote to reach one person who's stood exactly where you're standing, and hear back from them.
